maybe the name bose just makes it ok to make and sell junk from the 90s and 80s, other speaker manufactures have made leaps in bounds in music and movie sound reproduction in the past 20 years, bose is the same old bose, they sell the same mediocre stuff(at least its become cheaper) but they still cant get this stuff too work all the time, what are they doing if not upgrading the sound to where every other company.people let your ears do the deciding not the name of the company. its so sad that people are still raving about their sound, have any of you listened to other equipment.
This system is wonderful. It is very simple to control, sounds great, we're down to only 1 remote control from 3, and the speakers and wires stay out of the way and there is no danger to our 1 1/2 year old or to our next girl who is due within 2 weeks. My wife loves it and so do I.
Over the years I had added a Harman/Kardon AVR 225 receiver and a Klipsch 10" subwoofer. While re-doing our living space, I suggested getting the CineMate system to my wife to cut down on the ugly wiring behind the TV and also to get great sound while watching TV because the HK AVR 225 doesn't have a cable input so we watched Blu-Ray with great theater-like sound, but had to switch over to the TV speakers for regular TV watching. For over a decade, I had owned an Infinity home theater system.2 main tower speakers, surrounds, and a center channel.
Now with the CineMate we get great sound no matter what the source, whether it is TV, Blu-Ray, or our Nintendo Wii. The only things I would change would be a digital input, and also a headphone jack for those times when I want to listen to something loud and all of my girls are asleep. I loved my system, but always hated the wires that were so obtrusive and such an eye sore.
1 1/2 years ago, my wife and I had our first baby and the tower speakers had to go for fear of tipping over once our girl started moving around and leaning on things, and the surrounds had to go because of all the annoying wires, so the surrounds ended up becoming the front speakers.
This adds a real boost to my TV (Sony KDL-64W4150) which has wimpy built-in speakers.Oh yeah, I got the refurbished system from Bose factor. I modified the instructions by setting the TV to variable output and setting the Bose system to about 80% speaker output. Now, I can control everything from my TV remote and get a nice deep sound out of my Bose system. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little skeptical about buying this system. Save some money. If I follow the instructions, I have to set the TV system to fixed sound output. When I first setup the system I was a little disappointed. This would mean the Bose remote would have to control everything, which definitely lacks functionality.
If you have on in your area do the same. Easy set up works with Harmony remote. Bought this system at Bose Outlet for $350.00. This is a great system fior the money. It save you $150.00. Turn your TV volume off. Set it up properly. Set up per instructions and enjoy.
It's not going to replace your surround system nor your floor standing speakers but it'll make your tv sounds 110% better. Awesomwe.
